The Magic of Mykonos

Mykonos is the ideal island for the ultimate night life and non-stop parties. Located in the North East of the Cyclades islands, Mykonos is one of the most famous islands in the Aegean Sea, attracting thousands of visitors every year.

Mykonos is a small island, about 10 miles long, hosting more than 300 little churches, which have been built through the centuries. However, what has made Mykonos so famous is its worldwide reputation for having one of the most sophisticated nightlife's in Greece and the Mediterranean. First came the jet-setters, artists, and expatriates, as well as the mainland Greeks who opened many of the chic shops and restaurants. Today, Mykonos is one of the most cosmopolitan of all the Greek islands, with an international reputation and quite justifiably attracts tourists from all over the world, amongst them many intellectuals and well-known artists that are looking for real Greek holidays.

Mykonos has something for everyone to enjoy. Breathtaking landscapes, exceptionally beautiful Cycladic architecture, picturesque white painted villages with cube houses and windmills, 24 hours shopping and some of the most extraordinary golden sandy beaches in the Aegean Sea.

The stunningly pretty Mykonos Town, with the brightly painted balconies on the white washed cube shaped houses, is gathered around its harbour in the middle of a wide bay. There you will also find "Little Venice", which is considered to be one of the trademarks of the Island. Legend has it that the maze of narrow streets in Mykonos Town were designed to confuse pirates, so your own confusion will be understandable. If you get lost - and you will - remember that in Mykonos that's part of the fun.

Mykonos has a beach for every taste. Aghios Yiannis Bay (which became internationally famous in the film 'Shirley Valentine') is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The area overlooks the ancient island of Delos and its only 4km from Mykonos Town. For families looking for something quieter, the long sandy beach of Ornos is the best choice. And if summer means non stop beach parties for you then the famous "Super Paradise" beach is an ideal choice, offering crystal clear blue waters and beach parties that start around 5pm and last until dawn!
